The Event Lawn & Outdoor Amphitheater at The Ranch 

The Region's Next Destination for Live Events and Community Life

The Event Lawn & Outdoor Amphitheater will be a signature destination at The Ranch, designed to bring people together for concerts, festivals, performances, and community celebrations of all kinds. Built for both “big moments” and everyday use, this outdoor experience will expand what’s possible at The Ranch while supporting long-term financial sustainability.

At its core, this project adds a flexible Event Lawn paired with a purpose-built Outdoor Amphitheater, creating a true regional hub for live entertainment, cultural programming, and community connection.

Event Lawn Overview

Project Status: Now under construction. Work began in October 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in 2026. 

The Event Lawn will become a flexible 21-acre outdoor destination designed for:

  • Festivals and community events
  • Concerts and cultural programming
  • Daily public use
  • The new home of the Larimer County Fair and future Outdoor Amphitheater

This space will include shaded structures, seating areas, and improved connections to the rest of the campus. 

Outdoor Amphitheater

Project Status: Currently in schematic design. The Outdoor Amphitheater is expected to be complete and hosting events by 2028.

The Outdoor Amphitheater is being designed to complement the Event Lawn and create a dedicated venue for outdoor concerts, festivals, and large community celebrations, helping attract new entertainment opportunities to Northern Colorado.

Key Features

The Event Lawn + Amphitheater together will include:

  • A large-scale outdoor Event Lawn designed for flexible programming, including major concerts and community events. 
  • An Outdoor Amphitheater with fixed seating, general admission lawn seating, and VIP viewing areas
  • Shaded gathering spaces and lawn terraces to improve comfort and usability
  • Permanent food, beverage, and support facilities to enhance the guest experience
  • Vendor-ready infrastructure to support festivals, markets, and culinary events
  • Upgraded utilities and infrastructure to support large-scale outdoor production and campus activity
  • Walkable, ADA-accessible connections linking the Event Lawn to the Event Plaza and Blue Arena
  • A Teaching Kitchen to support culinary education, food events, and hospitality programming

The Impact

The event lawn and amphitheatre are key Phase II investments designed to expand capacity, elevate the guest experience, and generate new revenue that helps sustain public-serving spaces across The Ranch.

These projects support Larimer County by:

  • Attracting live entertainment and regional events that drive tourism and visitor spending
  • Creating new opportunities for local vendors, performers, and community partners
  • Strengthening long-term sustainability as The Ranch works toward financial self-sufficiency by 2039

  • Upgraded utilities such as water, power, and stormwater.
  • A Teaching Kitchen to support culinary education, food events, and hospitality programming.
  • Capacity to host up to 45,000+ people across the entire lawn and activation area.

The Great Lawn & Amphitheater is a key part of Phase II and supports the long-term goal of making The Ranch financially self-sustaining. This space will bring cultural, economic, and community value by:
