Grand Marshall - Andrea Maxwell

A Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been named the Grand Marshall for the Larimer County Fair and PRCA Rodeo Parade Grand Marshall.  Andrea Maxwell has been approved by the Larimer County Fair Board to be the 2025 Grand Marshall.  According to Fair Board Chairman, Stephanie Morrison, “Andrea is very desiring of this role due to her support of the Fair over the years, all the members of the Fair Board are very pleased and proud to see her as the Grand Marshall of the parade.”

In 2024, Maxwell gained significant recognition within the Larimer County agricultural community and Colorado Department of Agriculture for her work on several animal neglect and abuse cases. She collaborated with the Larimer County Brand Inspection Office, Colorado Brand Commissioner, and Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office to build strong cases that resulted in successful prosecution.

Maxwell also helped establish partnerships with Colorado State University, whose veterinary diagnostic team assisted with in-field necropsies to support justice for victims in agricultural crimes. During the award presentation, Colorado Brand Commissioner Todd Inglee commended the dedication shown by Maxwell and encouraged other counties to adopt the agency’s collaborative approach.

“Anyone who works with Andrea can clearly see her dedication to animal welfare and our ag community,” said Sgt. Justin Williamson, who serves as Chief of the Berthoud squad. “This award is a well-deserved testament to the heart and skill she brings to these cases.”

Maxwell joined the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office in 2018 and is currently assigned to the Berthoud squad. In addition to supporting public safety and engagement efforts, Maxwell is a certified equine investigator. With lifelong experience working with horses and livestock, she has a deep personal connection to the agricultural community. She has also been an active member of the Larimer County Posse since 2019, and she has helped with large animal evacuation and ongoing care during disasters like the Cameron Peak and the Alexander Mountain fires.  Maxwell specifically assists with the Posse Jr. Rodeo at the Larimer County Fair and many other needs throughout the five-day Community event.  She is truly a strong supporter of the County Fair.
