Arena & Youth Hockey Facility
Transforming a Key Facility into a Year-Round Hub for Youth Sports and Community Recreation
As youth sports grow across Larimer County, so does the need for high-quality, year-round athletic spaces. The Arena & Youth Hockey Facility will transform the existing Pedersen Toyota Center into a multi-sheet indoor sports complex focused on youth development, training, and community recreation.
This modern facility will offer new opportunities for local hockey leagues, non-ice flat-floor sports, and open skate access while also supporting dryland training, off-season programs, and regional tournaments. It is designed to be active all year long and to serve as a hub for families, athletes, and spectators from across Northern Colorado.

This project supports the Ranch Master Plan’s commitment to community access, youth engagement, and financial sustainability by:
-
Expanding access to affordable, high-quality youth sports facilities
-
Creating a year-round destination for practices, games, and events
-
Keeping existing infrastructure in use through adaptive redevelopment
-
Attracting new families and regional events to The Ranch
-
Reinforcing a healthy balance between public value and revenue-generating activity
Collaborative Approach to Community Recreation
In planning for this facility, The Ranch team also explored the potential for a new recreational sports complex with a natatorium. Rather than duplicating efforts, we collaborated closely with regional partners in Fort Collins and Loveland to support future public facilities.
The Ranch will continue to support the development of a recreational natatorium in Larimer County, whether located at The Ranch or at a partner site that best serves the public.
