Construction in Progress at The Ranch

The red highlights on this map show where construction is underway across The Ranch campus.

Lot Y: Preparing the Groundwork

Crews are performing earthwork and grading adjacent to Lot E., preparing the site for the expansion of 450 paved parking bays. In a cost-effective and sustainable approach, the removed fill dirt is being repurposed at the future sanctioned 4-H Outdoor Archery Range location, reducing waste while advancing two projects simultaneously, efficiently and cost-effectively. The remaining material generated from the excavation will be hauled to a stockpile north of Andalusian Road for future use.

Outdoor Arenas: Transition in Motion

  • New Outdoor Arena(s): The temporary outdoor arena North of Origin Arena is being cleared for a new multi-purpose outdoor arena(s). This flexible space will allow for one large arena (180’*400) or multiple smaller arenas, offering versatility for future events. This arena will feature a Permanent perimeter fence to strengthen safety and animal evacuation capabilities.
  • Farewell to Longhorn & Roundup Arenas: As part of the Great Lawn expansion, the Longhorn and Roundup Arenas will be relocated. Demolition of Longhorn Arena is scheduled to begin on August 26, 2025. The removal of Roundup Arena will occur at a later date. More information will be shared as plans are finalized. Farewell in our book doesn’t mean goodbye - it means we are building on what was to make a better future for our guests. These two arenas will be incorporated into the aforementioned ‘New Outdoor Arena’ space.

County Road 5 Improvements

Work began Monday, August 18, to widen Fairgrounds Avenue (CR 5) to two southbound drive lanes. This project also includes:

  • Expanding the detention pond requires removing a portion of the North Service Road east of Show Ring Road.
  • Extending the median at the South Service Road entrance (this work will cause a short-term closure at that entrance).
  • Relocating a non-potable water line connected to the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District water main during this phase will save taxpayer dollars and allow us to proceed more efficiently into the next phase of the project.

Additional Work Across Campus

  • Construction continues on Fairgrounds infrastructure, with progress in utility coordination, material orders, and submittals.
  • Coordination with the City of Loveland power team is ongoing, including work on light pole foundations.

The Ranch is in the midst of a once-in-a-generation transformation. These projects are reshaping our campus and ensuring that it remains a hub for community connection, entertainment, and opportunity well into the future.
